20 yards pistol ?
Yep : you need a steady hand , ps teetotal from 21 might help
I think there is a tighter group of three with the LP1, I guess you know best as I don't shoot this discipline but I couldn't call it.
Pi-eyed after 7 o'clock not gonna work ?
i'd get a bit closer and try again, 10yds maybe?
Its not really too bad if it was shot one handed.
It's actually not bad at all for single handed, 20m pistol. 10m is hard enough.
Not sure how informative 5 shots from each is tbh - FWIW I'd be wanting maybe 20 shots per card to get a good idea of how the pistols compare
Ive shot a 99 with my LP10 - but my coach regularly used to get 100's
Cant be more than a dozen people in UK can get 99 ex 100. British championship 2018 winner averaged 93.5. Are you at international level?
That’s not really a good indicator when it was held during the commonwealths, with a fairly good chance the best shooters may well have been at that...
Exactly - I just wondered if we have an international level 10m shooter on the forum!
Stating the obvious, 20 yrds pistol is nothing like 10m, its scary stuff because one little twitch and there is alot of distance for the pellet to go walk about even if the cards are scaled up.
As it is running below 6ft/lb it seems to take along time to get there aswell.
It is tough to get a good score, but when it comes together on the day it is a good feeling.
I have shot 20yrds pistol in the Eley NSRA final before after getting through two rounds. That was the first and last as i changed clubs and there is no desire for 20yrds pistol, at the moment anyway.
Keep it up red big walk and thanks for introducing another challenging and enjoyable discipline.
I'd doubt that there are many in the country who are achieving 99s with reasonable consistently, however I suspect there are quite a few who've had the odd 99 in the past. Especially so on the 20yd PL14s where the bull is considerably larger than it would be if scaled directly from the 10M target.
When I used to shoot 20yd pistol I had one or two cards in the mid-high-90s, however my averages were more high-80s which IIRC placed me around division 2-3 in the postal leagues at the time. Might have to dust off the pistol and have another go
I was 10th at the British Open in 2015 in 10m. Had Olympic trails for Target Tokyo.
I find my scores for 20 yards are higher than 10m. Best at 10m in competition is 568.
That’s me winning division 2 in 2015 and my friend coming second in division 1 - scores are higher than 10m
I wasn't sure what distance you meant. I have never shot 20m pistol. Between 6yd and 10m we never alter the sights (unlike air rifle that needs 40 - 80 clicks). I'm guessing 20m needs some adjustment from 10m?
