Hello. Is the original 50 any good. Got the chance to get one that's come up for sale. Don't know anything about them. Cheers

Bit of a classic from years ago .

    Distinctive styling .
Not particularly powerful . 9-10 ft lb at a guess . Tap loading not very efficient .
A Nice one would be getting quite collectable these days especially with standard sights .

    I wouldnt mind a 177 myself

I've got one, it's ok to look at but no hw77 tbh. They fetch 100-150 if noce condition. Bell target shooters seem to like them?

There's nicer stuff than them tbh, for the money they fetch they're ok and look nice. The tap loading is a bit hit and miss on them (As it is on airsporters) BUT it's better than the pop up 57!

Mines a slightly older Diana 50 so the trigger isn't as good + low powered, even with an "ox" mainspring in it :p

Low powered, inefficient, hard to cock, not spectacularly accurate.
So I've got two of them :)

Nice as a bit of nostalgia but wouldn't consider using one for anything other than a bit of garden plinking. The older versions are best, especially if it comes with original diopter sights.

Had one as a lad and they are spot on accurate.

Great action but power is an issue. Never got mine above 10.6 that said it did not matter it was that accurate.

Never had an issue with the tap load.

Sold it for the FEB124 that said that I still have now.

The later ones than this are mechanically much better but less pleasing to the eye with the extended under lever. These old ones have nice clean lines.

That’s the one Mick wow that brought back memories sat on a block of polystyrene and wasting a whole day just shooting down a range.

As Mick said one of the prettiest rifles I’ve ever owned. Brought second hand in Leeds from a pawn shop. I paid £50 which my old man had to buy as I was 13. First night I had it could not sleep as it was at was proped up at the end of my bed and I wanted to shoot it.

I’m going find some dib dabs and curlywurly now. Then a fray bentos pie in a tin and smash mashed potatoe.

I've got one this shape and one slight older with the slimmer stock and Schnabel forend. Need to find a MK1 with the deeper chequered stock and diopters next...

Hi. The one I've been offered is from the 1950 's. He's only asking £50 for it. Seems to shoot ok.
