    Hello everybody,

I would like to know your opinion for this airgun. I love the AA S400-500, and I would like to use it mainly for HFT and FT.

I think that Xtra Fac models give me the chance to change the power when I need with a lot of consistence in shoots velocity. This way I can shoot in 16J and 21J.

What do you think about the S400-500 Xtra Fac in .177 for FT and HFT?

Is S400-500 Classic better balanced for this use?

    Thanks for your reply.

I use a S400 running at 15 joules with the export length FAC air tube on it, and it is probably my most accurate rifle. It groups better than the EV2. It is a good weight for standers as well.

Rich, thanks for let me know your experience.

My only doubt is about the balance of the Xtra Fac model, I think that the differences with the classic model are minor to affect the weight balance.

Hi,I think the fac tube helps the balance,I put one on my MPR and although it's in a Paul Wilson stock it just feels perfect now.

Consider the extra volume cylinder gives more shots per charge in 16J. If you want to run at higher energies then the FAC version is the way to go.

    Try before you buy ;)

Is the power adjustement on the S510 so accurate that you can adjust it to 15 J repeatedly?

    Nice combo Rich.
I have the classic 400 with a fac tube, a Dave Welham reg, and triggermods. It manages 184 shots per charge, is very accurate, a bit light overall and does not respond as well as my GC2 to windy conditions;although in calm conditions it is a delight to shoot.
There is a new trigger addition Dave does that makes the 400 a bit special.A few people have them,I don't yet,and those that do seem to be making good results on the comp scene.
Like the Bushnell 3200 tacticle scope Rich.I have two and was 6th in the worlds a few years back using one.

Nice rifle William, I especially like the wrap over the handgrip stippling, was there any problems doing this as it looks excellent?

Thanks very much for your coment C.Eaton, the stock was made by somebody in Mexico and was bought by a good friend of mine here in Venezuela who sold it to me. Then I send it to another friend who did the paint job. The final product was really amazing and I am very happy with it. Regarding the wrap over the handgrip, there was no problem at all.
    Thanks again !!!!

Are adjustable power rifles allowed in under 16j FT, i think this is the first question you need to ask, im not sure, but would guess the answer to be no.
In england it would definatly be no.
Also due to the age of this post, its probably too late.

    Hi Fireblade,

Yep I sould have made it clearer that all I am trying to achieve is a greater reservoir so that my sweet spot is going to give a good 40 shots, fitting a good quality reg would also be a consideration if I could fit a larger volume cylinder.

Looks like it's not an option though :(

Try the AA S510 TC doble air tank. I think it goes for 180 shots per fill

    Thank you williamroamer,

However I am not sure that particular cylinder would fit into the S400 stock.
