Some public chatter on between the chair and the kiwis could be interpreted as a nod to the worlds being NZ being officially announced soon.

This should mean that there will be some dates. The location will be Wellington.

Further details as they're released :)

    Start saving...

They've said there will be some on site accommodation, and i'll be calling in a few favours to see if some mates based locally can put me or others up as an alternative...

http://www.nzairgunners.com/nzairgunforum/forumdisplay.php?f=11 seems to be a well visited forum to get information from NZ... and the inevitable Junior question has already been answered there as well...

    Shame

I would love to go and we even have friends who live in Wellington who keep asking us to visit. I've just had a look on tinternet and the prices for August/September this year are £1700 with three stops! Gawd knows how much they will be in 2014. I'm definitely out :( I can't see there being the need to hold qualifiers next year ;)

It's quite a distance. Main concerns for me are the time away from work ( can it be done in 2 weeks ), costs ( although accommodation might be cheap especially if i can crash at a mate's ) and the stop over handling guns... but on the flipside, I don't want someone wandering off with the silverware just because we couldn't make the party :D

    Come back concorde

There is a "Not the Nefta" competion held at Blania gwent every May bank holiday for those taffies (or others) who do not go to Nefta.
Perhaps a "Not the Worlds" 2 or 3 day shoot might be in order? Give an insight on hosting a mutl day event? Thats if a large number of uk shooter are not attennding?

I can only really afford a week off work if its in September as its usually a busy month for me and all my holidays are unpaid!
24 hours travelling and same back, leaves just 1 or 2 day before the shoot to adjust. I dont know if the time difference would be a problem with little time to adjust, but yes as the trip would perhaps cost around £2-2,500 just to go, plus lost eranings I would have to be in a fortunate position to be able to attend this depite the worlds now being my favourite comp.

Hopefully a plan will come together!

    NZ World's

I confidently predict that if the World's are held in NZ next year (3,000 miles away from 90% of the world's FT shooters) we will be toasting the first South African World Champion - they're the only people that seem to have time and money to burn!!

    Tight arse

Dan the Man, i would like to see you get to NZ with no credit card lol.
Infact if you did you could have the whole bottle of JD yourself lol :D

Given there are quite a few far flung places the worlds will be help in (potentially) over the next 20 or so years, perhaps Memeber bodies such as Efta, Wafta etc might need to think about holding fund raising shoots, the money from which would go to team costs? These of course could also be qualifying shoots.
Is that how other countries are doing it?

Buying that bottle of JD at the airport was a stroke of pure genius - I don't know how mini-kill would've made it through the week otherwise! :)

What's wrong with some grant aid? Why not use some of the wad that the BFTA has stashed away as a seeding amount and go for match funding from other organisations, commercial sponsorship, our own fund raising events, and so on. Make it snowball.

Once you start to look, you'll be surprised what grant aid there is out there, that can be had if you write the application well enough. OK, not in the same league as intercontinental flights, but our club had a few hundred quid last year to put a number of us through an RCO training course, and that came from the District Council. They had a pot of money from one of the funders to promote sport in the region. We tapped into that.
