2012 looks like a good year for new Welsh Ftc "Oaktree"

    see below for start thread

The log cabin needs some work, a good deal of which has been done over the recent weeks by Tosh. so if it falls down we can blame him:D
Only joking Tosh, you done a grand job and i am organising a round for you when you fit the shower!:D

I am like frank spencer when it comes to building such things but we had a good little work party yesterday.
    I held things,
    Tosh cut things
Jason had a batman belt to hold things
    and Mike made tea.

good effort by all really and great to be involved with members that want to take the club forward.

I am hoping to make the first of many (over the seasons) course changes so the new firing line(s) make the course one of the best in the country.
Mike kept mentioning no standers though for some reason?

Might have to get the Wafta winter final out the way first though? There is a lot of new lanes to cut, foxholes to dig etc. Given parts of the ground past the firing line are very boogy it will take some carefull planning and building.

    Gp2012?

i have always said Oaktree would make a great gp ground. Certainly got great lanes, great new angles for the shoot to be a good one.
Like some other clubs however parking would be the problem in the rain. hopefully if and when it comes to it the weather will be with us? Landowner is great and up to help which is a big plus.

Here are some pics, hope you find them in good jest as intended.:D

will keep updating as and when.

Tosh was not planning on doing too much so braught his slippers and settee. we made him change though.

Jason changed from Postman Pat to Batman with his super utility belt.
we all want one now. :)

Meanwhile, the boy wonder looks for a piece of string as the exhaust fell off the batmobile on the way up.

Mike farts and the tarpauline nearly rips the cabin out of its footings

work to be done, some bugger must have huffed and puffed on it?

In full flow, the boys done well.

    Fake.

boards are up, apparently we are having cladding on the outside:D

The struts are fake, just to support the roof till next time, Mike, we can see someone else has already swept up lol

    The old interior.

tosh ripped out the old sink, and being a plummer type has promised us a new work top for cooking / cleaning and a gun maintenance station.
    Plus a shower!

The black bags are our sandwiches!

sparse at the moment, but the woods are a testing course in winter or summer.

hope to have some good angles on the new lanes planned.

Been a busy year up Oaktree.

some more building work took place in the early months. wellbuilding may not be the best term as tosh broke the roof and Berty broke everything he touched lol

    Tosh breaks the roof

    Berty braking something, the clubhouse!

    Tosh fixes the roof!

The old firing line, which is now used to walk back to Stats / clubhouse when you have finished new 40 shot course

The new firing line heads off down the bank

Morf on lane 1, which requires alot of String and welllies but no wind!

Targets 5&6 are in a bog so 5 needs to go back further and 6 needs to come out of the Bog. Next weeks job.

    Morf Standing

Targets 7 & 8. May hve to swap 7 for something but 8 is a good un!

    morf Mid course

Me on targets 27 & 28. The tree is the old t30, which was a stander on the old course just as the line swung round.

Morf on my favourite new lane. I thin we need two targets down the gully on the tree where t30 is, Thats a nice target!
