    NZAFTA National Series Round II

    Updated with photos

Held on a quiet farmland at Ohaupo, Waikato, New Zealand 15 Mar 2009. Shooters from around the Nth Island gathered to compete in one of three FT classes, Springer, Open and Masters.

The day dawned fine and I believe all the shooters were happy with this. There was however fickle inconsistent gusts of wind which proved challenging throughtout the shoot.
The shoot consisted of 6 lanes of 5 targets. Once through the entire course shooting twice at each target with a total of 60 possible.

I wont provide scores but will say that the Open class shooter excelled and easily topped the points. As a result of this effort he has been promoted up into the Masters Class for the remainder of the series. Indeed an impressive effort!!

For myself, in my second only FT shoot I came third in the Open class and came away realising that Im not actually competing against others.....Im only competing against myself. Pics have been added here now. Hope you enjoy.

Not sure that that wind was ever howling, but it was very inconsistent. Although since most shooters were using more than 12 fpe Im not sure how much the wind affected the pellet. I know personally it affected me holding my rifle steady.
