MFTA Winter League Round 8 @ Woodend: Northerners on tour!

A few North East shooters went to Woodend today and got a warm welcome from the MFTA boys :)

Quite a short course but it had a tricky wind and most shots going over water made for unusual shooting.

Well done to Mr Neil Daniels who managed to put in a cracking 29 after missing the very first target - well done matey ;)

We will hopefully see some of you at Anston next week - no doubt Calps will have his long ladders out :)

    Scores are up >>> here

    Dave.

It was nice to see you today Dave, congratulations to both you and John on your 28's.
Definately be at Anston next week, I'll see who else I can drag up with me!
I wish more of the NEFTA and MFTA lads would go on tour, it's always good to see how the other half live, so to speak.

I had expected to see a few more NEFTA guys there as it's a closer shoot than some of our W/L venues but I suppose the credit crunch may stop some travelling on the weeks in between our comps. Car share is the way forward :)

I thought Calps would have been there with his usual car full from Anston.

John and me won't make Harriers but we will be at Castle to cheer you on for the last round Neil ;)

Good shooting today Neil, I see you are tightening your grip on that title.
Thanks to all involved in todays shoot, very enjoyable and different to the norm shooting over water with that wind.
I will post some photos in the next couple of days so come back for a look and I hope to be one of the midlanders on tour next weekend.

    James

I off to practice my reading, especially big signs that say KNEELING!

I commented to John that the kneeling sign was huge and may have been to help Neil :)

Looks like it needs to be bigger next time ;)

55 yard, 40 mm kill's are no problem at all to James and myself, bloody great big signs one foot in front of the firing line and we've got no chance, I think we're both past it mate.

What's the chance of getting audible warnings for positional lanes adopted by the BFTA?

Thanks to all the well wishers, I'm still waiting for the bubble to burst!

I like the sound of audible warnings............just don't get my wife to do the voiceover, I'd only ignore it!

Try the following link it should take you to some photos from today, once there if you find the sideshow button use that although it is a little slow, hope you like them.

If it doesn't work I'll try something else

    Works for me.

Agreed about the kneeling signs... could have been a little bigger couldn't they...:D

I also find the harmonic frequency of the Hazy's voice difficult to pick up if she's in command mode... unless i've just put in a request for shooting leave, in which case i'm miraculously able to pick up and complete every single request. But something about shooting must break it, because afterwards i'm normally deaf to them for a few days.
