The infamous Nomads wind was absent today, but its place was taken by a fog close to a full-blown pea-souper that showed no sign of lifting by 10:00am, and the start was delayed until most of the targets had slightly better definition than barely distinguishable yellow blobs. Slowly, the fog started to clear, and toward the end, we found ourselves in bright sunshine.

Elliott Compton topped the open class with 57, two points ahead of Mick Boswell and Tony Male, while in the recoil class, Laura McLennan, Perry Broad, Andrew Timmins and Stew Searle all finished on 51, with Laura taking the honours on count back.

    Positions on count back.

I've discovered today I actually shoot better at a yellow blob with a dark patch in middle . Once fog cleared and I could actually see target's I started to miss ..
Great turn out again at Nomad's nice to see so many tuning out in all sorts of weather.
    Top shooting Elliot and Laura.

When the fog really started to disappear, Kev, it was moving at a gathering pace from north to south as the wind regained its rightful territory, but I'm sure the arrival of air movement and your sudden loss of form was purely coincidental, so I'd suggest smearing a thin layer of Vaseline over your scope's objective lens to recreate the yellow blob with a dark patch in the middle that suits your shooting style.

Just wanted to say thanks to the Nomads for a great day out. Tried HFT for the first time, how is it easy to miss at 8yards? Great course with testing shots.
Big thankyou to Tony Male for his tips and patience and more importantly letting me use his (work of art) air rifle.

Welcome to the forum Phil, and you shot really well, to come off the course for the first time ever with a 46 is a real result, I see a budding HFT'er, just need to get you sorted with some kit, but all in good time.

Well done to Elliot & Laura for the top scores (and to milek for beating me on count back ), and finally thanks to the Nomads crew for another great morning on the hill.
