a few months ago i posted on the bbs asking for the advice of the members re opening an indoor range in the north west. the upshot of the post was that on october 9th at 9am we wll be opening the doors at atherton airgun range at victoria mill, atherton.
based on the first floor of a mill, when completed, the facilities will cater for all airgun shooters.
we are building the ranges as we speak and can offer a 28 position firing line with spinners, knock downs and zeroing cards out to 55yds.
ft shooters can feel confident in the fact that their scope was set up in still air, hft ranges are covered with reducers, prone section and standing sections.
a 15mtr tin can alley is also a feature we can all shoot with pistols for fun and games if thats your cuppa.
air will be available on the range from a 12ltr 300 bar cylinder.
there will also be a 10m match rifle and pistol range and a benchrest range too.
all fully insured and welcoming applications to join now.
the range will be run as a none profit making affair with all funds being ploughed back into the club.
the local clubs are welcome to attend and will be given a £5 reduction in membership fee.
open 7 days a week from 9 to 9 and obviously we want to add to the shooting facilities without appearing to be poaching members of other clubs. intead we will be coexisting with the already established clubs.
more will be added to the facilities as time goes by.

come on over - youll be welcome

Ooh I like the sound of that. I can see some M62 driving happening, and even though west of Scammonden my maps just have blank space with "here be dragons" :D it's closer to me than some NEFTA clubs.
Can guests shoot? Can a member "book" a lane.

What will be the cost of membership for the year ?

What will be the cost per visit and how long will a "Session" last?

fees are yet to be finalised but at present its looking at £75 a year for single membership, £95 member and partner, and £100 for family (2+2).
we will open at 10am and close at 9pm weekdays and 10am to 6pm sat and sundays.
very affordable for the services on offer, inc heated ranges in winter and wind free zeroing to 55yds.
a full day shooting from opening to closing will be £7.50 per member and £12.50 visitors (half days fees are 50% of full)
member and partner will be £12.50 per day (half days fees are 50% of full)
family 2+2 members will be £12.50 per day (half days fees are 50% of full)

    prices to be confirmed.
just spent £2500 on building materials and £1000 on targets so its a definate goer.

    details from ben on 07907689652

we hope to cater for shooters who want to shoot when convenient for them and as im aware no other indoor facility has 7 days opening and all day too

can i just point out that the club is registered as a ltd company and i am not making a penny from it or the fees raised.
i was asked by ben, the main man behind the range for advise on opening a range facility.
last year a kind person reported me to the inland revenue stating i was an employee of daystate and working for them. a fact which was disproved after investigation by the dss.
as ben is up to his neck organising the work to build and open on time i am promoting the range online in an effort to get the ball rolling and can do without another report to the fraud line by a nasty jealous individual who shall remain nameless and under his stone.
