i had a great day at maldon and district gun club today and was proud to be there when the latest winning gadget was revealed by one of hft's best known characters.

yes folks im talking about gary chillingworths latest design, the "scutterhook"!

to you and me it simply looks like an illegal butt hook but this carefully designed and measured instrument cleverly disguised with sticky tape somehow manages to evade the watchfull eye of the ukahft scrutineers.

i know youre all thinking that this has only been achieved due to the fact that he is the chief marshall but i find this sort of rumour to be quite scurrilous and scandalous and am sure that this massive F.T style butt hook is completely legal.

what i dont appear to have is any photos of the next "big thing".

can anyone furnish us with some pics of this latest prototype?
    atb.

Ian, his massive FT style butt hook may be legal, but I'm sure his massive FT style butt isn't.:D:D:D

The gema-shite system is fully Hft legal, it is made from aircraft grade angle bracket and the finest duct tape money can buy.

It has been shown to Mr Dutton, and Mr Sparkes has also seen a pic and it is ok for hft.

If anyone is interested i shall be taking orders at wendover

wow, this is good news. we all know that mr dutton and mr sparkes are not only short sighted but also a little lacking on intelligence but even so im bemused that the F.T/ hunter butt hook has been passed.
could we have some piccys asap so that perhaps we could have a referendum? :D

    The Butt hook in question

Well I have to say I have seen the said Butt and I gave my opinion that I thought it could not be judged to be allowed in the UKAHFT but was told it had been checked out by the said top brass.
sounds like another phone photo on the move to Wales and we all know the outcome of that ????????

If they are allowing this I say what about a over sixties class, sounds good to me .

The paddle on my home made butt pad is the same dimentions as the Gemini systen and also the Ev2.

The lower paddle protrudes 2" from the pad and the top paddle is 1 1/2"

    Shark hook.

The last time I saw a hook that large it was in the mouth of a Great White shark off the cape coast. That can't be legal.

It obviously does not work though as 3 of the 7 targets i missed today were standing shots.

ha ha this is good news youve saved the masses thousands. i just tried getting on the gemini sight and it said there was to much traffic! :D

are you allowed to swivel the "scutterhook" and spear it into the ground for those awkward up the tree prone shots?

You can not spear the ground and the paddles have to be fixed. Drop Pete Dutton a PM and I am sure he will be more then happy to give you the low down on what is and is not legal.

I am no expert on this side of the rules, however, my but pad was made to the specifications I was given. Unfortunately I can not justify spending £300 on a true Gemini and that is why I have tried to make my own

I must admit, this has annoyed me a little bit, I would never do anything that would brake the rules or attempt to glean an advantage.

I shot very well today and I was more then happy with what I scored, but if any of you want my third place medal please let me know and I will send it to you.

I shot well and because of this I thought my gun may have been over power, this is why I chronoed my rifle before accepting my third place. (it was legal 778-786fps with 8.44)

I help to enforce the rules and I abide by them and I hope that I lead by example.

Bring your medal oop north and we will show you what to do with it old bean, Looking forward to seeing you all mate.

You don't need to worry about the rules because if it looks like we are going to be beat we will bloody cheat!

England trying to win in Scotland, cant have that!
