I think I nearly talked myself out of a good score on Saturday after walking the course but I had a word with myself and got stuck in, couple of school boy errors (again) but pretty pleased with my score today, starting to settle with the new gun now but defo need a bit more weight on the trigger and a shed load of practice.

Enjoyed the course, very testing but very enjoyable. Thanks to Jon and John for the company.

Statistically the hardest Winter League if you shoot the second session (fact).

Enjoyed that one a lot. Thanks to the Anston massive for the superb and testing course and to Hughie and Keith for the company. Can't believe I beat Bri with that score. Was halfway round and 3 down, then I fluffed the release on target 22 (full kill 35 ish yards IIR) and then missed the next 4 targets on the trot. In the plus column though I got all my standers and kneelers.

I was just wondering what you all thought of the kneeling roll? I thought it was verry good and a lot better than the bag. If calls has a spair I could have, yes please?

It's a prototype being developed by Calps on behalf of the BFTA so there's not vast quantities around.

However, it's good to know you approve, positive feedback helps to make the final choice of design a lot easier. Be sure to pass your views to your BFTA rep so we can make an informed decision when the time comes.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Had a good go with it Saturday, the thing I noticed about it the most was how it helped straight my back up more than just using the bag. Could do with being a bit softer but I'll be looking to get one very shortly.

I was intrigued as I've started using the rolled up bag to support the ankle, but decided against using it this time and went back to my old stance due to the inordinate amounts of glutinous schyte (aka Anston mud) at the firing point and I don't believe the rules allow "edge of bag to keep knee clean" plus roll at the same time.

Think thats a good point Adam, not sure I would have relished kneeling in that if I didn't have something to protect my knee. Think the roll is a good idea by the way but if this is all we can use then another knee pad will be necessary.

The plan is to provide a knee roll and mat to protect the knee from the ground at the GP's once a kneeling roll comes out of the other side of development. Shaun Shore can confirm the details

For 2016 shooters must provide their own roll and mat. Hopefully after a few months of trialling shooters will be better informed about viable solutions and firm proposals will appear at the AGM.

2016 rules will be updated by the end of February for first use at the champs.

Sounds good Paul, but yesterday was a great day to find out what problems we may face, I am aware you were one of the last shooters on that lane yesterday and it was pretty messy and uninviting up there and if all the shooters had used the Mat and Roll I think there could have been issues. Trying in my own mind how to resolve this without carrying more gear around with me (cos I'm not very strong) but an struggling at the moment.

    Regards

    John
