    Hi,

Last week I treated myself to a new MTC Viper Connect and connecta mount, bought from a local RFD.

As with my other MTC scopes I went to register it so that I have piece of mind with their superb support and backup.

HOWEVER, it's proving to be pretty difficult, my scope has no serial number, well not that is visible on the box, packaging, instruction booklet or scope itself.

I am in contact with MTC and am waiting for them to get back to me but in the mean time, if you are thinking of buying a MTC scope, check that there is a serial number.

Nothing is proved yet but it could be that there are MTC clones or copies out there and that could be a very expensive mistake.

I will of course provide an update if any solution is reached but in the mean time, you have been warned to be vigilant.

If its fake, its costing MTC / Diana group money. Would you be happy taking delivery of a Dacia if you ordered a Renault........oh, bad example I know

MTC Viper Connects do not have visible serial numbers on the scope but they should have one on the packaging.

Haha Yes well your right of course in so much as I am not happy to pay for a MTC and then end up with a copy, which, if it is, does appear to be very good.

It would have been helpful if MTC had responded like they said they would, three calls and a couple of emails to them so far and they have returned a couple of emails but not returned my call which they have promised to do twice so far.

Going to get back in touch with the RFD concerned as well.

I have been told by a RFD that since MTC has been taken over the customer service is rubbish to the point the RFD may not stock MTC any more. Usual problem small company who cares for its customers gets bought over by a large company who do not give a toss lol .

lol i have a Renault too been faultless lol

    MTC's latest policy

    Hi,

A chap from Daystate/MTC did get back to me, he offered me no explanation but assured me that my scope will be covered as long as I retain the receipt.

Hopfully any other owners will have kept the receipt anyway.

Thanks also for the kind offer to swap my scope for a renault just a few years old and only 34,000 on the clock, couldn't get it with a full 12 months MOT and fill her up as well?
