Whats the cause usually, is it just a seal ?
I have it in bits & have a seal kit but just checking I don't need anything else while it's apart.
    Cheers

If the air is leaking up the barrel then it's usually the firing valve that is leaking

Crap, thats not good as it's been modded by Ben Taylor due to the reg..... I'll take it apart & see if it's dirty.. Failing that I suppose I will have to get in touch with Ben.

Pete, should the delrin part on the firing pin be the same shape all round, the part that contacts the firing body looks a bit wider at one end than the other, the part that contacts the firing body is larger than at the spring seat, are they all like this or has mine squashed a little do you think ?

    Cheers
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

If it's a black std AA firing valve then the sealing end should be much thicker than the sping end.

I'll measure on up later & let you know the size of a new one but I doubt an original one would deform

Sorry, what I meant was that the end that seals against the firing body looks slightly thicker than where it comes back to meet the collar for the spring, almost slightly conical in shape, with the widest point being at where it meets the firing body.. hard to explain...lol.
I'm pretty sure it's out of shape.. I'll see if I can get a piccy..

Got the new pin in, balloon on the end of the barrel & fingers crossed, worryingly though the wife walked into the bedroom & said it looked like some sort of sex toy as it laid on the bed  not quite sure who or what it would be used on though

Needless to say I shall be hiding it from now on either way ....:D

Ok so I have the same problem again, been gradually getting worse & worse. I have a Ben taylor reg & so the firing pot has been 'modded' is there anything I can do to stop the leak, I take it the valve isn't seating correctly ?
