I asked around at our club session last night and it's pretty certain we'll be entering a team. Look forward to the paperwork.

Am I too late to have a look at this, there's a few lads at Donny range that would be interested.

    Hi Brian

John, I asked this by email but then thought it might be a question that others would ask anyway; if a club has several teams, is it the rule or expected that the A team has the best three and the B team has the next best, or can a club choose team members disregarding the scores, for example a team of left handers or a team with HW100s?

    Teams

    Hi Rich

The system is that the best 3 shooters shoot in the A team and the next best 3 shooters shoot in the B team etc as in NSRA rifle postals and I ask clubs to do this.

I have been asked if a club could field a seperate Ladies team and although this has not yet happened, I would be happy with it, but generally the League runs better with the strongest shooters representing the best teams in the top divisions.

    Other disciplines

As well as a benchrest league, the Midlands shooting League also run a 20 yd LSR postal league which I have posted about in the Paper punching section
We also have secretaries from 2 other clubs in the Midlands region who run 10 m pistol and 20 yd pistol leagues using the NSRA targets
Format for LSR/20m pistol/10m pistol is 9 rounds over 18 weeks for both summer and winter postals
The benchrest is 10 rounds over 20 weeks for both summer and winter seasons

Once the seasons start, shooters can shoot their cards/rounds as soon as they wish to avoid any problems with holidays and work commitments, as long as they shoot them in the correct order.

    Midlands benchrest Winter postal

Following my posting this thread back in January, 5 more clubs have entered the benchrest postal and we now have 13 divisions of teams competing in the Summer postal

The WINTER postal entry has now been sent out to the clubs currently competing and shooting will commence in October.

Any other club with a 20 yd or 25 yd range that would like to enter the Winter postal, please get in touch and I can send out an entry and rules

Scores are submitted by clubs using e mail. Audits are carried out to ensure correct marking and rules compliance.

I also run the Midland league LSR postal This is shot at 20 yds
Again, please get in touch if you wish to enter
    John

They use slightly smaller targets for 20 yards Conor

Some ranges don't have 25 yards, so this is a way to include them in the league
