    Reason

Reason for change is shooters requests to move the round so they can attend Anston Champs.
Hope everyone is happy with that..

Should we really be changing scheduled winter league dates that were published a long time ago for an open shoot?
I can accept that circumstances affecting the availability of a venue or the weather making a change sensible but I don't think this falls into that catergory.
If individual shooters would rather shoot the Anston champs than a W/L then that is a choice they can make. Many shooters will have planned their calendar around the published dates.
In other words no I'm not happy with that decision

    Committee

Mfta committee members were asked if the change of dates was agreeable..
    All said yes.
Several people have asked for the date to go to the 10th Dec...
Same old story as you can't please everyone.

You are correct you cannot please everyone, which begs the question why change the date because some people weren't pleased with the original date? Why was it not brought to the attention of the committee when the Winter league dates were published?

The committee members being? And I assume that opinions from ALL of the MFTA clubs, the views of which the committee represents, were sought?

Also Shooting-the-Breeze is possibly not the best place to announce changes such as this. Surely the MFTA website should be used in the first instance. I notice the change on the MFTA calendar section but no banner headline to draw competitors attention to the change. Not good practice.

To compensate for those that quite understandably can not make the new date of 10th, why not reduce the counting rounds by 1.
    Seems fair to me.

I’m more than happy to only post MFTA news on the MFTA website, I can then ignore the majority of people who post on here claiming not to have been informed because they simply don’t look at it.

However, it will now be the way I’ll do things James.

It's how it is unfortunately had this happen at the GP series when it was decided to change venue after confirming venues and dates.

It cost some people a room all you get is you shouldn't have booked so early........

When you commit to a series it shouldn't be changed. The expense and time commitment is massive if you think it's ok to swap and change events/dates then don't be surprised if the event drop in popularity.

Mark, I certainly didn't think it was ok to move the venue, nor did the BFTA, and it wasn't something within the BFTA or CSFTA's control to avoid. I won't go into details on here but will happily discuss if face to face or over the phone if you like.

Hi mate I think the GP change would have been beyond reasonable control. I don t think the MFTA can say the same on same on this occasion. I know of at least 3people who can t make the new date now and that doesn t seem fair when the only reason for change is that a few shooters want to go and shoot an open in another region.

If it was worth the change & Also how many turn up in error to shoot at Milride
