    MAD Matchplay

    A great day for shooting at MAD with 64 people starting the first round, the first round winners continuing into the second round of the Matchplay, with the losers going into the second competition called the Plate, then continuing with a second knockout competition to decide the winner.

    The final 4 in the Matchplay were;

    Mark Camoccio v Steve Griggs
    Guy Gillies v Vinnie Blackman

    The final was between Mark and Guy, with Mark taking the win on a free-standing sudden-death shoot-off after drawing at the end of the course.
    Vinnie then beat Steve to take third place.

    The final 4 in the Plate were;

    Rik Travers v Geoff Ryder
    John Houghton v Darren Lindsey

    The final of this one was between Geoff and Darren, with Geoff taking the win on a free-standing sudden-death shoot-off after drawing at the end of the course.
    John then beat Rik to take third place.

    The bonus draw winners of £30 each were;
    Ralph Presland
    Evan Grove
    Steve Gillies
    Alan Sultano
    Mark Camoccio
    Janine Travers

    Tomorrow is still our MAD monthly open competition to be shot in the woods everyone welcome. Safety at 10.45.

    Guys & Gals, what can I say, what a superb day, thoroughly enjoyed every minute and everything about it. Special thanks to Mike Elliott for his invaluable assistance and imput, cheers matey, have a good holiday.

    I learnt today that I need to raise my cheek piece on the Mk4 but was wondering!!!!! Has anyone out there got a right handed FTR stock or anything suitable I could beg, steal, borrow or buy so I can continue to shoot comps whilst I get my stock done. I promise to look after it as I do my own.

    What an absolutely cracking weekend :) 2 superb days of shooting in the company of some of the nicest people in HFT:cool: Was an absolute pleasure to be back at MAD again and can't wait to be back again, many thanks to all those involved for making it possible:) I've just about recovered now, although it may take a while for my body to get over the loss of 2 pints of blood that those bloody mutant Essex mozzies sucked out of me:D:D
    Once again many thanks and see you all again soon :)

    Matchplay 2009 onto 2010

    Well I;v got to say although Cleve and myself did the courses in 2009 I didnt get to be there as I was golfing in Ireland last year,but wow what a great event we have just had at MAD.
    The 4 courses were put out for every-one to shoot and I think every-one seemed to enjoy them,the feedback has been great and I;ve passed my PMs on to Cleve etc etc .
    All I have to add is please dont think that when we put the UKAHFT double-header on in JULY its going to be so easy ,we have standards to keep up and keep them up we will .
    I thank you all for your comments and we hope to get the event next year with the UKAHFT blessing .
    cheers Ian
