In answer to my own question... The AfterDark Series (or Moonlight MADness!) starts on Wednesday 2nd November. :)

BTW. Does anybody recommend any particular torch?
My 100 lumen one was rubbish at dusk.

I found an Ultrafire cree mc-e 700 lumen one on ebay, but not sure how good/bad it is...?

I had a go with 15mm/13 yard target today, and I struggled badly...

I figured out that it's a parallax problem. (After adjusting the parallax I could get 10 kills in the row.)

Now, since during the HFT competition you can't play with the scope, here is the QUESTION:
How do you guys overcome the parallax error for 15mm targets between 13 and 15 yards? (I could get the 15+ yard ones with some effort, but it was doable)

I tried moving my head back and checking if the black ring in the scope is even everywhere, but it didn't give me good enough effects. Is this really the only way?

Some scopes are better than others.

You have been told the tricks already by the sounds of it.

Try pressing your face harder or softer against the stock or making the face position more consistent
