Hi all - I am looking for recommendations for a butt hook to fit onto my EV2 MK3. Ideally, I'd like something that can be added straight on with a minimum of fuss as I am not that technically minded. I've had a look at a couple of products that have been recommended on other sites, namely the System Gemini Butt Plates and the MEC Free Position butt-hook.

Has anyone fitted either of these to an EV2 specifically? Or are there any other recommendations from you EV2 shooters? It is primarily to improve my standing shots.

    Thanks in advance

A butt hook will make your rifle fit you correctly into the shoulder if it's set up correctly !

The standard EV stock is useful , take the action out of the stock there are three locating screws , remove these , take it into your garden & knock it in the ground & grow some green beans up it.Failing that dig a hole and bury it.

But the only thing that will improve your standing shots is practice.

Best regards with a dash of Blue Stratos

Yes, I understand that. The current EV butt plate doesn't do much in that respect and I can't afford a different stock.

I tried that last time but all it grew was a new EV2 stock - but still with the same old butt plate :(

Again, I understand that however I would like to have a butt hook to help with posture / balance (see your point #1)

Try Hi Karate - new season, new fragrance ;)

Anyone got any more constructive comments?

Buy it once is my advice theres one or two butt hooks on the market but the most adaptable is the HPS system genimi aktiv...not cheap but if you buy a anschutz or something like that you will see a gemini on a rifle somewhere and think....bugger i should have spent the extra....In terms of fitting to the riffle i think a bit of modifiaction to the silly daft ball pivot may be needed on the mk3 but im sure there will be someone able to undertake this work for you or even may have a solution ready to go off the shelf.....AJP might as he favours the hps gemini hes called knobman on here if you want to pm him
