    Hi,
Has anybody removed the barrel weight from the LGU barrel?
If so how does it come of?
Tried unscrewing it, it moves a little but with a lot of resistance.
Is it possible it is heated up and then shrunk on?
Look forward to any help forthcoming.
    Cheers
    Mike

    Hi Mike

Its simple to remove, they are all a little tight, all you need to do is put action in a padded vice, heat silencer with a hairdryer to break the thread lock they use, undo the grub screw underneath, use some thick card leather or rubber to protect the latch and I just used a large adjustable spanner on the flat of the latch and spun it round to break all the thread lock, once removed you can remove all the old thread lock and it will be easy to take on and off in the future if you need to.

    Hope this helps

I have added some pictures to help

How long do you have to keep the hairdryer on the barrel for?

Depends on the horsepower of your hairdryer . just keep going till the thing will move i suppose.

I use a hot air paint stripper , heaty gun thing . .........forgot what a hairdryer looks like long ago .........:(

Probably because you used a hot air paint stripper by mistake... :D
