I am unable to completely bend my right knee to allow me to sit on my heel to take the kneeling shots. Is there a rule that states that i am not allowed to carry a small bean bag about 6 inches square and 4 inches thick to place on my heel so that i sit on the bag and stops my knee from crushing together.

If you are talking ft then no.

Hi Dave, I am fully aware of the kneeling position for FT , but i would just like to ease the pressure on my knee with a small pad.

Sorry, but you wouldn't be allowed to do what your asking ..:(

    Bean bag

If you use a stiff piece of foam I think that will pass, but not a bean bag.
The rules state that no part of the bean bag should contact the buttock , it does not mention foam!
Shaun will be along shortly to give you the official ruling .
I understand what you are trying to do Dave my knees sometimes get a bit tight.

Probably did not explain it very well, just want to use something to make my heel thicker by placing something on the back of my boot to ease the pressure on my knee. I will use my bean bag as requested by BFTA

I`m with Gilly sorry Suds. If its deemed to give you an advanatgae (by the forum shooters) it will start three years of further rule changing !

Take em standing or Open looks to be the options

    Rules

I see where your coming from Simon but if there is nothing in the current rules to say Dave can't do this, then what's the problem?
It makes no difference anyway , I've not seen a rule enforced at an event to date.

There are many unwritten rules Simon, A chielf Marshall has to use common sence and experience.
Such as this could be considered unsporting, least I think that's the term we used recently at the Agm. Not In the spirit of the sport?

Eg, there is nothing to say you cant wear a fishing belt thing with a cup and put your drop down hamster in it on a stander. but its unsporting as it will or could be perceieved to give an advantage.
As a chief marshall, I would not allow either (and many others!)

I appreciate Suds may be struggling, but so have others and hence after many false starts, we arrived at the Open class. Problem solved.

I am, but I am also a "one rule for all" man so I don't mind who I tell and pull up on rules;).

Simon the last thing I want to be is unsportsmanlike that is why I have asked this question. The day I am unable to shoot FT normally as intended then I will throw the towel in. Just in a lot of pain when my knee is bent . Dave P

    Solution

    Dave
Just buy yourself a size 15 right boot and put the padding down the inside to make it fit. :D:D

Fair enough Dave, but that's what Open class is for, or all standers? More you shoot em better you become, least that what happened to me.
No real need to pack it in unless you want to.

I agree rules are rules,so put a marshal on the kneeling lane or get rid of using any type of support.
