Turned out to be a great day at Tondu where over 40 entries (Good for a Wafta FT shoot) enjoyed good sunshine through the day and just enough wind to cause the odd miss or two, or many!!

Indeed, this course with its 33.5 yard average was I thaught one of the easier ones I had put out at Tondu and I have to say i was surprised some scores were not higher than they were, but I guess the old saying is true there is no such thing as a Gimmie! Its what makes ft so interesting and hard at the same time?

    Talking of gimmies, target 2.
10 ish yards, full kill. I was bemused to find a low strike on it at 6 o'clock when Woody and I went through, even though we were the last pair to start.
I was not going to shoot but I enjoy shooting with young Woody and the REV had told me it would be a good confidence boost if we let Woody score a moral victory on our home ground by letting him beat us by one.
Now missing target 2 was not in my game plan but once again I was talked off a target by Arms Dealer Jacob, as having scoped the target i miss read the side wheel and dialed 17 yards! I was the 2nd miss, but the score cards do not reveal the other miss. Could have been from a shooter from distant shores?
Thanks to Bobby Banks and Kev Sayers as well as my (unfortunate) shooting Partner Justin Wodd for making the trip down. I take no responsablility for Woody missing the last target and yet again his chance to beat me!

    Anyway, the results.

Well done to Mark Berty Bassett on winning the John thomas trophy with a 37, just a long kneeler, a long stander and a fairly long sitter caught him out.

Mark Sheppard and Jason Davies shared runner up spot, Davies dropping his 4 targets by target 9,
then going on to clean 31 targets to finsh while Shep came unstuck on four of the courses toughest targets.
John Johnston took B class with a fine display using the vintage equipement with Gareth Rees and myself tied on 33 for runner up. Top C class spot went to a delighted Miss Land, who with some fine coaching and words of wisdom had a nice pair of standers to help seal the win. Young Garth rees took third spot with a quite superb (fluke:p) six hits in the last three lanes including being one of only 11 to hit target 36, the long stander.
hope all enjoyed the angles, the testing and the "Gimmie" targets:confused:

Side shootes were popular again. plenty of practise on the 15 ml kills in the Vermin where Peter "In off" Jacob cleaned the course helped by at least 3 "in offs" to claim the £20 top prize while Jack Harris hit 8 ex 10 on the standing kneeling side shoot to pick up £20 there.
John Lewis took the pistol side shoot.

Firstly Simon – Happy Birthday!! :D

Thanks to all at Tondu for a great day s shooting.

Well done to Berty and all grade winners.

Simon always fun shooting with you, but it was a little more than apparent by the amount shouting and barracking you were giving me on the last lane that you were on the ropes, I felt a little sorry for you mate – your home ground and all that! Ha ha - so a draw it was!

Still Whooped you on the Vermin and Standing/Keeling side shoots!! :D :D

    See you all at GP1!

    Cheers,
    Justin

Has to be said to the Tondu team, they always put out a superb course and well thought out.

Was a good day for me and the little missus with her first class win, as you can imagine she is over the moon about it...Thank God haahaa.

Was superb to see a few of the lads travel into Gods country to have a crack at the course...

Great course plenty there for everyone, like I said Simon good use of angles and good course layout.

Best lane for me was the last lane, scared alot of people just by the use of the distance and angles within the same lane...

Thanks for a great day out.....

    33.5 yard average

Always interesting to me as a course builder to know what targets were hit and missed by each shooter / class.

    so, overall Sunday

Only 1 target was hit by all 44 shooters, that was target 22, a 15 ish yard full kil "Gimmie" in the Bowl.
Target two was only missed by 1 shooter, me:eek:

The target with the leat number of hits was target 36. = 42.5 yard stander, slight downhill shot
Hit 11 times overall out of the 44 cards handed in, of which:

    7 were a class shooters,
    3 B class
and just 1 C clas (That must have been the gun used:D)

    A class

Both targets 36 and 5 were hit the least, 7 hits eack target 5 was a 43 yard sitter on the ridge.

    B class

Targets 36 and 7 were the least hit with just 3 each. Target 7 was a 53 yarder up on the ridge

    C class

No C class shooter hit target 1, Harry the hedgehog up on the top ridge, 52 yards

Of the top 10 overall, of which 3 were b class

Target 3 was the least hit with 4 hits. Target was 48 yards.

Overall, it was the expected long targets + disaplines (there were only 4 over 50y) that took most marks off shooters.

    1 - Target 36 = 42.5 yard stander (11 hits)
    2 - Target 7 = 53 yard up on the ridge (12 hits)
3 - Target 1 = 52 yard Hedgehog on the top of the ridge (15 hits)
    4 - Target 29 = 52 yard target in the "corner"
5 - Target 40 = 54 yard final target "angled" through the woods

The 39 yard Kneeler and the 32 yard stander were next with 19 hits

With the 8 x 1 inch reducer to come sunday at gp 1

Target 23 was the most missed reducer. 34 yards (above the Rusty pipe) with 21 hits of which
    A class were 13
    B class were 6
    C class were 4
