    John Thomas Memorial Winner 2012 - Jack Harris

    All went well today with the weather playing its part in that we had no rain!

    course was not too differcult, short standers and just one long kneeler, enough for all to enjoy (i think) and even the wind was fairly light for tondu.

    AA

    Jack (Standing) Harris 38 ex 40

    Jason (nice song about thomas the tank ) Harris 31
    John (the bank) Lewis 31

    Jack was using Doz'es ev2, so no excuses from doz!
    Chris rerally is impressing with me with how to miss with an ev2, his excuses are getting better than mine
    Mike, nice to see him shooting and I wont mention him missing the plate on a 22 yard stander. and missing the "long" 32y stander!
    Berty should have used my super Gilly pellets, you could have stayed in the kill like mike then!:D
    Jason is likley to sell his walther in Norway to pay for a night out?
    Peter had a slight problem with the standers, hitting any of them even the 14 yarder was too much today!
    Jason is far better at making up songs than shooting
    John should have had a bit extra in bed?

    Dissapointing there were only 26 at Oaktree last week and 27 at ours today, but i guess all you can do is put on a good shoot, you cant make shooters attend?

    Simon,

    I am genuinely one of the worst standers in AA. However, I'm also one of the luckiest standers around, it must be luck as I'm almost falling over towards the end of the second shot!

    Thanks to my shooting partner Jack, the plan of telling everyone we are three or four down worked a treat in keeping the pressure off! I shouldn't have insisted on him going back on the zero range before the start to check for being a turn out though :D Top shooting Jack.

    Finally thanks to everyone who put the shoot on, really enjoyed it.

    thanks forr kind comments Chris, much appreciated by myself.

    With all the shrubs / bushes etc it take quite a bit of work to put a shoot on at tondu, even today where we cut corners by using sme of the Gp lanes.

    Sadly i have had enough for the time being!

    Stats are in

    We had 25 of 27 score cards returned yesterday

    top man Jack Harris only missed:

    T7 which was a 50 ish yarder, shooting down from the bank to the path that runs between our bottom ponds and woods. I will guess he gave it too much wind.

    t38 (it was the owl on the Bank in the Gp) which was a bird on the side of the birch tree up the banks, about 48 y. Guess he did not give enough on this?

    Hardest target was a draw:

    T38 (as above / Jack) which was only hit 12 ex 25.
    and
    T30 which again was a full size @ 48 ish yards. This was a new one for us. Sat on the bank behind our container and firing over it towards the edge of the woods, nice target i think?? Again only hit 12 ex 25

    Easiest target on the course was t32. full size kill @ 30y. everyone ht it:)

    15 ml @ 9 ish y = 16 ex 25 (it will be one more hit after wednesday lol)
    15 ml @ 12 ish = 19 ex 25

    We had 8 x 25 ml reducer out.
    R1 @ 16y = 23 ex 25
    R2 @ 11y = 23 ex 25
    R3 @ 25y = 23 ex 25
    R4 @ 22y = 23 ex 25
    R5 @ 18y = 24 ex 25
    R6 @ 34y = 17 ex 25
    R7 @ 31y = 17 ex 25

    R8 @ 28y = 21 ex 25

    So, reducers under 30 yards hitable but over 30 yards and they took the marks!

    Kneelers

    27y = 19 ex 25
    42y = 13 ex 25
    32y = 16 ex 25
    20y = 21 ex 25

    Standers (i kept them short as i wanted more hits on them!)

    22y = 16 ex 25 (sorry for poor footing)
    20y = 19 ex 25 (sorry for poor footing)
    30y = 14 ex 25 (Downhill standing shot)
    14y = 18 ex 25 (Downhill standing shot)
