Picked up my Airstream MkIII on Monday. Action only. :D
    Can't get a stock until February. :(
Gary Cane for the stock.
So can't shoot it properly as yet. :(

I put the action in my test rig yesterday afternoon.

Shot a 78 shot group at 55yards through the chronograph
(CED M2) at a paper target (available here) with a 40mm ring.

On paper the result was a group 35mm vertical x 53 mm horizontal
I made no correction for wind which was variable 1.2 to 5.6 mph direction variable, 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock.

I believe this will tighten up vertically as my test rig needs some modification to stabilise it, it's a work in progress.

    I was using JSB Exact Express .177 - 0.51g - 7.9gr - 4.52mm
    batch number 40007411

Pellets straight from the tin, not weighed, washed, lubed, sized or polished.

That looks like a great string there Pete!
That wind was strong enough to open the group up and I assume they were unweighed pellets?
It's early days, but it looks like you've got an excellent rifle there.(finally!)

    Atb,

    Alec.

I've already got a good scope, Simon.

I hope that doesn't turn out to be the case, with a stock.

    Pete;

Talk to Simon (VX220). He's got the same set-up as you're aiming for and he'll tell you his experiences with GC.

    Nice stock though....

Gary's work is beautiful and I would not go to Anyone else ..... Ever
But it's everyone's personal choice, Garys are very curvy the stocks I have seem from Steve are a little flat for my taste.

The action was clamped in a test rig( DIY by me needs some refinement), shots fired through the CED M2 Chronograph, at the target placed at 55yards, crosshairs on centre of target, misses were down to wind & possibly some movement of the test rig.
