Thanks @Dale Thinking of combining it with a family holiday. Apart from the pools what is the resort like for kids? For sightseeing the big animals are a no-brainer but do you know of attractions that might interest my 7 year old who's difficult to spark any interest in anything but Minecraft, buses and fire engines! :D

    Hi Adam,

Given I wasn't there with children myself, I cannot give you a full rundown of what is available for them.

If it helps here is a link to the ATKV Buffelspoort website that may help with your queries: ATKV-Resorts unparalleled hospitality for the whole family

I would say that when I visited it with my friends, there were a lot of families at the resort and plenty of young children, all of whom seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Sorry I can't be of more direct assistance on this one.

I see Neil has just beaten me with a link to their website.

Thanks both. I've been browsing the website but you can't beat a personal experience.

If it's of any help had a look for prices on flights. Virgin and BA go direct to jo'burg nearly 11 hour flight . There prices are approx £644 return. You can get cheaper but can take up to 35hrs to get there with either one or two stops. Hope this is of some use. This is flying from Heathrow so you'll need to put cost of travelling there into it.

Don’t forget to add the gun charges each way.

SAA also fly direct to Jo'burg from Heathrow and are used to carrying firearms.

Generally the earlier you book the cheaper it will be, also I prefer doing a direct flight when taking a gun, as less potential problems.

    Just an update.

We've had an email to say that booking in will open next week.

We'll make a list of the order people will be contacted in to accept their place. The system will be as per WFTC 2019 in that payment will be in advance and there will be no refunds. We'll be given an allocation which we'll then offer to those as per the qualification list. You will be given a short time to make a decision and then we'll move onto the next person. The exact timescales we are not sure of as we have not had details of those yet, nor the costs.
