    mate of mine found a black 16g iphone in the snow,its locked ,the code was 1234 but its disabled...can it be un-disabled??? atb fred

    No, It should be handed into the police and they can track the owner via the code on the inside.

    If he keeps it, then it is theft by finding and if the police catch him with it he will be charged with handeling stolen goods.

    I am sure if your friend lost his £400 Iphone he would want someone to hand it in

    It's fooked, hand it in and if it's been less than 24 hours since the legitimate owner reported it to their provider it may be able to become something more than a brick to the person who actually paid for it. If not then your mate is pissing in the wind if he thinks it's worth anything.

    he says it was actually encased in a solid block of ice,obviously a frozen puddle,build quality must be good as it seems to work perfectly,i have advised handing it in as is useless to anyone else........
