Hi Dave, I had one of mine done about 6 years ago, it cost me £60-00, It marks the paint under the mounts so if you move the mounts forward or back at a later date you can see the marks, It did reduce the movement of the scope but I would not have it done again. Dave P

hI there are loads of places that are doing, the coatings now as you have probably found out, and once they have seen the scope the price may change with the amount of work envolved as it did with mine stock, because of the prep work etc. I had my stock done, and it was expensive in my eyes but not in others but others have asked me it it cost £50 i wish, but it does look good, but at the end of the day its the stocks shape that makes the differance. but i can understand why you want to try it with your scope, Just make sure you have a solid quote and follow it through. if thats any help. :D

Have the silver that you have chosen spray finished with a 2k lacquer which has a Matting agent included in or added to it. So it s only say 25% - 50% max as a gloss level, that should make the surface a little harder wearing against the scope rings issue.

That s how I have sprayed my scopes in the past and they did not mark when moving.

Or buy a silver March....go on you know you wana...???? :)
