great rifle bought today, ready for ft stock. but there's loads of first stage travel on a otherwise good trigger unit.

im sure theres some trick or tip to decrease the 1st stage. if any one can help please let me know.

    Jimmer,

On the front of the Rekord trigger unit there is a metal 'downstand' in front of the trigger blade, to reduce first stage travel bend the lug back towards the rear of the unit. It simply stops the blade moving so far forward.

Sounds a bit dodgy but that is how to do it!!

    Hope that helps,

    Alan.

i always thought that it was the screw that you have to take the stock off to get at. it's to try and put people off messing with it. jim tyler did and article about tweaking the rekord trigger. he mentioned bending the little lug and warned folk not to go there. it does the job, but isn't the correct way of doing it.

when set up right the rekord is a awesome trigger.:)

i'd imagine you could google it.

The little screw in front of the trigger guard is a T8 Torx and is for adjusting the trigger creep. I've had the sear polished and although much smoother there is a just a bit to much second stage creep on mine. I shall adjust in very slight increments to shorten. (screw in).

Adjusting the first stage can ONLY be done by bending the little tab. There's only two other forms of adjustment on the Record unit; the one for trigger weight, and the one mentioned above for Sear engagement / creep adjustment.

Just go slowly / gently as they can snap off. And the torx screw can be bloody tight on some.

You could drill / tap the blade front of the blade and pop a grub screw in and drill the tab to get a key through. I'm sure I've seen this done before. Bending the tab is easier though!

    Cheers
