    hi guys,
I have a weihrauch moderator on the end of my Steyr and I can't get the pull through down the barrel, can anyone suggest a solution? I've tried a straw but can only get halfway down the moderator? don't want to take it off every time I clean it. cheers, Josh :eek:o

Try inserting a drinking straw in the end of the moderator to allow the pull through loop to pass through the moderator to the breech.

The Anshutz or Walther pull throughs will usually going through a moderator, due to the stiff inner of the loop.

    Straw

    Hello,

You need slightly narrower straw, it will go through then. The right diameter straw always works well.

    Regards

    Success !

Cheers guys ..... once my Dad had a go it worked fine with 2 straws joined together and a bit of delicate persuasion rather than my brute force ! A good lesson learnt. Josh :D

Try cutting the straw halfway along it's length so that when it gets tight, the straw can fold round itself to take up the smaller diameter.
Also cut a point to the straw to allow it to pass through easier than with a squared off end.
Alternatively, consider the excellent VFG cleaning kit as you can pass the plastic rod right down to the breech, then twist on the tampon before pulling back towards the muzzle... :D

If your near a model making shop you can get a range of different rigid tubes carbon, plastic or metal. I use strong fishing line stiffened with electrical shrink tube plus Napier pull troughs on my AA HC

What's the reason for not wanting to unscrew the mod?

The little straws you get on the side of a kiddie size carton of Ribena are perfect for .177. :D
Very useful for rifles with bonded on silencers/weights like the 97K, TX and LGU.
Just cut off the bendy portion.
