Was chatting over the club the other day and a question was asked "how many EV2's have been sold?". The general opinion between a couple of us (with not much experience!) thought that it would be nowhere near the amount of AA S400's etc Maybe in the high hundreds?

Anyone have a good idea of the amount?

Standard ev2 will still hold their going value and I I doubt they will lose value thus due to the new ftp900. However ev2s that have been pimped up I.e warren, garry cane stock, bp Taylor , osler service will again go for their asking value.

Its like buying a standard car and buying a car with extras and dealer service history.

in my experience fsh don,t mean a thing, just the same with guns, they nearly all have to have tweaking in some areas, ft is a minority sport compared to hunting etc, so the ratio between the two will be huge, but I prefer ft

I'm talking about the volume of EV2's sold, not how much they are currently worth. :)

They've been sold overseas as well as here.

Also the HFT market mops up a fair few as well.

At our club we've had at least three members who've bought them but with no intention of shooting FT or HFT other than as a plinker.

So I am going to guess, in 9 or is it 10 years since the EV2 came out, they've made around 4,000.

All depends on what you call cheap, with the cost of the FTP around £1450? I doubt an EV2 will drop much under £700 as there's a fair difference in the price between the two.I personally think it will help hold the value on the EV2.

I am not sure how the new gun can be anymore accurate than either my ProTarget or Mk2 EV2. I am also sure it won't be any easier to shoot than my EV2.

So why would I sell either cheap then buy the new one????

That depends on whether you are one of the fashion following sheeple out there Dave. You know there will be plenty of people who will simply have to have the new rifle.

I Would say in the 10+ years, you could be looking at well over 6000 units, they sell all over the world and a lot more go abroad than stay in blighty, go on their website and see were they sell, you will be very surprised, its easier to mention who they dont sell to;)

I suppose that we would all be in trouble if people stopped buying new rifles - had my fare share over the years (don't tell the wife) ;)

I just don't understand why he thought lots of EV2s would suddenly start going cheap. We have had new Steyrs come out but the LG100 still commands more money second hand now than 3 or 4 years ago.
