Given Rob's thread I was wondering how far you guys drive to shoots on average and how often? Here in SA we maybe do 50miles one way every 2nd weekend? I know the chaps up around Johannesberg does every now and again a 200mile one way trip to the freestate. Have done that as well but then I am useless for a shoot.

Depends on which clubs are hosting the Winter Leagues - the next 2 Sundays could see me doing 250+ miles to shoots Woodend (MFTA) and Hull (NEFTA). Some weeks its local and 10 - 20 miles.

largely most of my shooting is done at comps....

for the 6 "regional " winter league travels i will do (round trip)

    200 miles, 150 miles, 10 miles, 60 miles, 150 miles, 80 miles...

    my clubs are (round trip)

    5 miles, 10 miles, 60 miles, 150 miles...

my national series will see me doing shoots (round trip)

    130 miles, 350, 600, 130, 230, 350, 370, 600, 150, 320, 130

that doesn't include opens which will probably be around 3-400 miles each.... or the international shoots....

Rob that is impressive to say the least. And our guys wonder why they are still not there yet. I dont see that dedication around here. Granted our shooter pool is around 90shooters nationally. So I suppose we cant complain if we are not there yet... :D

My car is coming up to 3 years old in March and has over 45,000 miles on the clock.

Take into account that my car is left in the airport car park mon to fri and only used at the weekends.

Depends? Local "regional" shoots will be anything from a 60 miles round trip to a 150 miles round.
Currently enjoying travelling around other regions during the winter to get some good practice in for the Gp season and get to know gun, last 3 trips been an average of 300 -350 mile round trip.

GP and the nearest, which i think is midlands (outside of Wafta) is about 250 miles? Tawd vales is a 450 mile round trip i think, but as long as you have a good shoot at the end of it, good zero range and course, who cares. If the Food is as good as it has been this winter in the midlands and csfta then added bonus.

That would be fair to say plus there is also nipping down the local club for a practice or even club competition. Im lucky to be only 3 miles from the club. Some do have to travel about 45min -1 1/2 hrs to nearst club.

Then Winter leagues NEFTA ,nearest Hull roughly 26 miles furthest Thorn Dell ????? miles

GP's as well plus international ones which technically doesn't mean driving but still got to get to the air port , i'm quite lucky that i have Humberside Airport 3 miles from my house but as they fly absolutly no f**king where then more driving ..........................................i.e Luton or Gatwick !
