You posted recently asking about Regs on your HFT500.

People replied saying that it would probably have a good sweet spot with a low spread in fps over that sweet spot. Did you understand what they meant re sweet spot?

    10.8fp is @ 760fps.

What pressure are you filling the rifle to?

After how many shots are you measuring 10.8fp?

10.8fp is fine if the grouping is good with those pellets at that speed as said above. Most will run the guns at @ 770-780fps which will be up to @ 0.5fp higher than yours. You wouldn't really see any great difference between 780 and 760fps up to 45 yards.

These are the figures from my 500 un regulated. And this is from shot 30 to 82 .
180 bar fill down to 110 bar using out of the tin AA 4.52

    Population size:52

    Mean (μ): 784.75
    Median: 785 Modes: 783 787
    Lowest value: 776
    Highest value: 792
    Range: 16
    Interquartile range: 4
    First quartile: 783
    Third quartile: 787
    Variance (σ2): 10.302884615385
    Standard deviation (σ): 3.2098106821719
    Quartile deviation: 2
    Mean absolute deviation (MAD): 2.5865384615385

If I fill to approx 166, in reality I put 180 bar this puts the rifle on its sweet spot approx. 52 shots, I`ve left it at that as it shoots really well and it only drops fractions after shot 82 .. I don`t know what I`m on about but I like to fiddle If I were to wash, weigh ,sort etc I would expect a decrease in the 3.2 deviation but as it is it`s extremely accurate. These were produced in this programme thanks to Airsporter 1st http://www.alcula.com/calculators/statistics/variance/ Regards Gordon.

Thank you all for the replies I charge at 160 bar and use JSB exact diabolo 8.44 gms I have put 50 shots through and the average is 10.8 ft lbs which seems a little low I like it to be in the region of 11.3 to 11.6. Yes I understand the sweet spot

Barry, i use AA Field 4.52....some say them & jSB's are the same, but i found they up'd mine from just under 11 to 11.3 !
Give 'em a go mate & see what happens.

Try a different die of pellets, I have several here that vary from 785 fps to 740 fps without touching the rifle! all jsb 8.4's
I also find there is no benefit to exceeding 780 fps so I choose to set my velocity to run around 11.2

I wouldn't worry about it too much anyway.
    7.62 at 2700fps would be the best bet for HFT......but i don't think it's allowed anymore ! ;)

Personaly i would leave it alone, i preffer the AA S4xx/S5xx/HFT series rifles to be 11fpe and under.

Mine shoots at between 773fps and 776fps and it hovers nicely around that figure. I use AA 4.52 diabolos or the same grain in a JSB, it doesn't seem to make any difference. I charge at 190bar and consistently get 117 shots before they suddenly (very noticeably) start dropping so it gets filled after 100 shots to be safe. Someone else shoots his HFT500 with me at around the same figure as yours (in fact just a bit lower) and his groups just as well as mine. I'd be inclined to live with it
