think I know the answer to this:

I’ve an FT windicator - one of those that you fold out - i need to fold it in to put it into the bag. Cani fold it in and out as a put it in and take it out of the bag - I’m guessing no?

Your hunch is correct Dan, you can't! Just dangle a bit of wool/string from the barrel/cylinder/accessory rail ;)

i fabricated a semi low profile string hanger for my Steyr when the rule came out but it was still a pig to get in and out the bag....!

How about an electronic ‘puffer’ bit like a vape where you just press a button and see exactly where the wind’s blowing, well, where you are at least.
Failing that an army surplus smoke grenade chucked out on the course will do the job, I’m sure that’s not in the rules...

As far as I am aware a fold out windicator is allowed on the NEFTA hft Hunter series.

I know that rules are rules etc. But what is the possible advantage of having a windicator that's been left folded in? Not going to make anyones rifle more streamlined is it.

Put it this way, if you shot round with me I wouldn't care if it was folded in, folded out or 5 feet long and sticking out your arse. Won't make any difference to your shot

My windicator is about 4ft long, folds down from the underside of the barrel, and is really handy on standing shots

I ask the same question last year about moving the windicator and this was the reply I got last year.

Swing out windicators are now allowed. You can fold it in between shots but you must remember to fold it back out for every shot. If you forget you will be penalised.
