Been having flyers for a while now always high right ,had a mare at mad on the second day until I dry fired to get it down to 150 bar ,then it settled down and the zero came back in anybody else been. Having issues like this been getting worse for a while its gone to hospital to be sorted now also chrono readings a bit inaccurate any where between 160 and 190 I suspect firing valve

yeah I did thought it was loose mounts to start with but I removed the rubber button in the front and put a bit of packing between action and stock and all is well

    I'm quite happy with mine.
    90 shots from 190 bar to 120.
With a 50 shot sweet spot that has a 17fps spread :lev

That's because there's not may people bought the gs Lee. There's only a fraction of them out on Hft courses compared to hft500's. At the end of the day Hft is quite a small & specialised market that is already saturated with "super guns" ;).

Sorry for hijacking your thread Poth, if you want to borrow mine while you sort yours i'll bring it to the Rose Bowl on Sunday? :D

With my HFT ive found that its best to have 775fps the highest it will spit out the 8.44 pellets at the peak of the curve.

I wonder if the stock inletting on them is good as mine has little rough little spikes along the air tube section?

I've have worked on the inletting of both my HFT500 and my Ultimate Sporter. Both actions were very, very tight in the stock when I bought them. It took a lot of time and patience to rub them down. When I was happy with the results, I glued a thin strip of ribbed bicycle inner tube to the front and back of both stocks. Very happy with the results.

I agree that 775fps is the maximum for the HFT500. Mine shoots very consistently between 765 to 775, but starts to spray pellets like a shotgun at anything over that.

    Mike.

I'm glad your getting on with it, Barry Smith is certainly doing well with his, personally, I prefer the 500 as it's longer and for me a bit more stable. Horses for courses.

Just relooked at this and the spikes where how the laquer had dried, and i agree there a to tight fit i even sanded the laquer down and its still a a very tight fit those to bits of sponge at the fore end must make things even worse.
I think theres way to much laquer on the inletting of mine.

On my 1st hft500 I spent ages relieving the stock inleting for a better fit. The one I've got now is VERY rough so I've started to do this one now!
