    Hi

I want to have a go at the NEFTA winter league this season. I was thinking of getting a Bushnell elite tactical 6500 4.5-30x50
    • How suitable are they for Ft
    • Do they range find ok
    • can you get large side wheels for them
I didn't want to spend a fortune on a scope until I have seen if I take to Ft or not, I was going to try the new Falcon t50 ft but have read mixed reviews.

    Your thoughts please

    Jon

Is that going to give you enough mag to range find accurately?? Do they come in close enough as all of the adverts/reviews etc that I have read show them as from 25 yards and out??

Which ever way you go, you need to be quick as the first shoot is in 8 days and you will need time to set up and sort ranges etc.

I went for a Mk2 Big Nikko, working on the principle that if I don't get on with FT, I should be able to sell it on again for pretty much what I paid. Also a proven track record for them in general, and also this scope.

Its finding one thats the key like rocking horse s..t.
I had a mk2 Feb 2004 (current mk4) hand picked from 9 better optically than most, i couldnt range find within 8 yards consistently, better with naked eye.

My advice to you is DO NOT BUY ONE i am talking from experience,i had one when i first started doing FT.I used it for hunting and couldn't really afford another scope. There an awesome scope for hunting and can be used by an experienced FT shooter, but not a beginner. You will really struggle to range find accurately
with it,they don't snap in focus but creep in,add this to the fact that it is low mag, makes it difficult.Buy a nikko diamond there a fantastic scope especialy for a beginner, or better still buy a sightron if funds allow.

So Mk1/2 Nikko seems popular are these better than the later ones?

I do like the look & feel of the Sightron though are they worth the extra £300 on the price of a new Nikko

    Hi

Due to the time I have left, I am going to have to get a new nikko or the sightron
who does large side wheels for the sightron scopes, I see Rowan engineering do over size top turrets.

Thanks for all your input Jon
