BAR are advertising the AR20FT for £599 INCLUDING the 8-32x56 scope? surly a mistaken advert, if so am I right in saying they would have to honour the advert and supply an 8-32x56 scope???? Could be costly to them if it is.

It's no wonder they are now out of stock. i't seems a tempting offer.

Advert is correct I was in today and had a look at one. The scope is a 8x32x56 Walther scpoe and it even comes with a larger side wheel. Very impressed with the gun for the money and they are expecting the .177 ones in a week or to, well worth a look.

Thing is Dave, are they absolutly sure it's the 12ft/lb one? in the German add it says the scope is supplied on the 8joule version but NOT the 16joule one.
I'll ring them today to make sure.

Phenomenal value  Great opportunity for people to get into the sport in these cash strapped times.

Two of the Ponty guys already have these in .177 and I've had a shoot with one today....surprisingly heavy but very nice to shoot except for having most of the weight up front and the cocking mechanism was like pulling a rusty old spring gate back (not very smooth at all I'm afraid) rather than one smooth pull it came back in several stiff jerky stages . The guys that own them have reported an increase in power from around 10.5-11.8 in the week that they have been shooting them.A nice enough rifle for the money but I think anyone who buys one will end up having to do some work on it to get it right. It will be interesting to see how many of these are purchased and how many finish up on the second hand sales within 12 months.

    Is the scope mildot?

Echo the comments about the cocking mechanism... but i'm sure 10 mins with some polishing will get that smooth. Trigger had travel on 2nd stage, but i'm sure there's some adjustment there to be had as well. Didn't get a shot, to be honest I couldn't get what I wanted out of my gun on the range, so wasn't about to pass judgement on another.

    The new Hammerli

I managed to have a go of one at east Devon last week.

I have to agree with dave, I thiught it was front heavy due to the front being all metal chassis.

I thought the trigger was really nice on the one I tried, but the cocking mechanism wasnt the best. But as Rob has said little bit of time polishing etc might sort that.

I had a crack at the RAMS on the silos and got 3 out of 5, which I was impressed with, once I got the right aim point it was bang on.

For the money, I think these rifles are great value. It will help alot of people get into shooting...

Nice one bertster, exactly what we need, a good starter rifle, or a good workaday rifle for people who dont want to pay megabucks but still not take the risk on the 2nd hand market.

Getting better all the time! Forgive my ignorance but wasnt the original idea of HFT was FT that anyone could roll up to with pretty much anything and have at least an evens chance of being in the running?
