Can anyone suggest a good quality gun bag that is deep enough for a rifle with hamster and scope fitted. I bought an Air Arms bag but it is just not deep enough :(:(

    Ey up Steve

Is that site legit? - it looks very dodgy and only accepts Cheque or Postal Orders.

I'm on the lookout for a bag that will stand up on it's base rather than fall over on it's side so I can take it round a course with me and not have to bend down too far to pick it up.

GP1 murdered my back, I'm back on a cocktail of paracetemol and ibuprofen now and I'm still in pain nearly a week afterwards. It's got me thinking that I need to find a solution to ease things a bit before attempting 3 days of 50 target courses at the Worlds.

I don't like those wooden carry box things I've seen international shooters use - I'm not comfortable with the way your exposed barrel is waved all over the shop in everyone's direction when they carry those things. I'd prefer to use a bag to carry mine in. The one's on Steve's site look quite wide at the base, but I think my best bet would be to get something custom made for me unless anyone else can offer any advice.

I was thinking more like a whole entourage - a bit like Lady Gaga

Hmmm.. wonder if I could get a shooting jacket made entirely out of raw meat?

I was thinking of this one as well. What are your impressions of it? Is some of the height used up when you put the rifle in? I notice they say it can be used as a mat which means it will not have much depth to it.
    Cheers Z

Have a look on fleabay at Keyboard cases. Some have a wider flat "base" so would stand upright. May just need an extra layer of eggshell foam in each side to take up the extra width.

Thats a good suggestion, I've spent 20 minutes looking through listings and some of them look like they might work.

The only trouble is that most of them don't seem to have the zip along the centre of the bag and on some of them that look ideal it's hard to tell from the photo's whether the zip is in the centre or not.

Here's one that looks interesting, but again it looks to me like the zip is along one of the side edges and not down the centre..

I need something with internal dimensions of 44" x 13" x about 7" so it'll stand up on it's side.

I'd appreciate it if you already know of an item on ebay that would do the trick
