Can someone please explain how the scoring system for the GP series works , as I have shot a couple last year and one this year and looking at the website it makes very little sense to me:eek:
Do you need to compete in all the GP's to have a final score, is that done on average, best score? best of 3 or 4? or something else.
What do the numbers on the score table represent? I think I got 27/50 in sft at Tondu and my score for Tondu appears as 48 on the website. Also my name doesn't appear on the main scoring section but it does if I click on S to go to sporting.
    Tad confused:p
I guess I mostly enjoy the shooting too much to really care, but at the same time its nice to know whats going on:D

At each GP the top score in each class is awarded 50 points, it then goes down in 2 point increments to 40 points then it goes down in 1 point increments.

So it goes 50,48,46,44,42,40,39,38,37,36 & so on down.

If three shooters were to tied on the top score in that class they would all get 50 points but the next highest scorer would only get 44 points

Ah very good, thanks Pete, well i'm glad I asked because I would never have worked that out.;) So if its blowing a force 10 gale it doesn't matter if your score is competitive. And is it necessary to shoot all the comps to truly compete or can just a few count for a final score? Quite happy knocking about but its good to know:)

Why do they not use 1pt between each in top six places?
    Thanks Conor
