Are these adapters a good fit and any poi difference between it on and off ? Was thinking of getting one just to take the edge off when zeroing at home or if I decide to take it into the field at anytime .

The adapter won't cause a poi shift but the silencer probably will. ;)

Just finished making one for mine , will test later for poi.
I’ve had them in the past where the zero changed from taking on and off .
You could put some masking tape over the end of the silencer and fire through it to make sure the pellet exit is central.

Bought 2 steyr originals adapters and was not for the silver Steyr barrel was "loose"fit ,and cause poi shif .The same happen with my friend lg 110 steyr ..
Some one told me that are probably made for the black steyr barrels that are 0,001 something thiner than the silver barels ??

Fitted my mod with the steyr adapter to my Challenge HFT yesterday and no difference at all with poi. A lot more restful on the ears I can now hear the clonk from the action.

Best one to get is the Rowan engineering adapter two reasons one you get 4 securing grub screws second which has been mentioned silver barrel and black barrel are slightly different I am sure you get the choice of black barrel adapter or silver.
I have one and a wine rack silencer.
The adapter doesn't cause poi but a silencer does due to the weight at the end.

I just unscrew silencer pull barrel through and put silencer on no poi changes for me anyway also with the weight also makes the rifle shoot slightly more dead too.

Does it make much difference floating it? I am not really keen on milling it out

I am old school my barrel was touching chassis in one area to be honest the rifle still shot ok.
I free floated the barrel for piece of mind and generally a free floated barrel is a happy barrel.
    No milling involved.
Sand paper and wooden Dowell and plenty of elbow grease and time.
I feel the rifle shoots better but that could be just in my head lol.

Yeh I know what you mean. Yeh I will run mine for a season as is standard then make any mods for the following one if any. Really impressed with how they shoot out of the box and fingers crossed we can all salvage some shoots this year

Yes I agree. I have no intention of re-engineering mine unless someone can show me proper scientific proof that it makes any difference! Not convinced that Steyr have got it wrong.
