The sad news from Millride this week is of the death, after a 15 month illness, of club stalwart Gary Radford.

Gary, who was in his mid forties, was the font of all shooting and fishing knowledge, and was well known to many of you, both regionally and nationally. Many of you may have also known him as the "G" in GML

Gary was a hugely popular and supportive member of Millride and was always ready with a word of encouragement or sage advice. He'll be greatly missed.

Our thoughts are with his wife and 13 year old daughter.

    Gary was a true gentleman.
He had great knowledge of air rifles and he would willingly give his time and expertise to anyone.

    RIP Gary

I was extremely sorry to hear today of Gary's passing, he was a man of great patience for the beginner who always took the time to help & advise.
I remember clay dusting sessions with Gary at the 'ride, great fun, always happy to lend his gun for you to have a go. Generous, gracious, knowledgeable, helpful & friendly.
My thoughts are with Gary's wife & daughter, I am so sorry for your loss.
    Goodbye mate.

    My wonderful Gary

Thank you everyone for your kind messages. I am so proud of Gary, of how he battled with such courage and dignity over the last 15 months. He absolutely loved everyone in the shooting community and enjoyed every minute of his time spent with you, either shooting for fun, competing or just chatting and helping people. Many thanks to anyone who has sent cards, particularly Dave Pitt who sent one on behalf of Millride FTC and to Dennis, Richard & Francis who sent one from Rough Wedge ARC. Thank you also for all your donations - all monies will be sent to Pancreatic Cancer UK, without whom, we would not have coped as well as we have. I have set up a website in tribute of Gaz. You can find this on http://gary.radford.muchloved.com and anyone wishing to contribute or donate to PCUK, you would be most welcome. Thank you again on behalf of Gaz, myself, our daughter Charley and all our family. xx
