I looked at the March for about 10 mins, before I realised I could get another converted 9015 with a Leup on top plus a 50ft adaptor for the current rifle for the same money... and im desperately trying not too please... I wonder if that 9015 in the LH Tillys stock is still avaliable...

Save your cash, you don't need a 50ft with a Leup Comp :)

At x40 mag I haven’t seen too many mil dot reticle scopes that are any use for FT in terms of holdover, most are x10 mil calibrated and become very close together at higher mags.

Anyway it’s impossible offering advice on your bizarre requirements.

It's a while ago since he was involved in FT, but my mate Kev Jackman always used holdover as he hates dialling.

He won a few pots back in the day.

On the bright side, you can look forward to getting your own back by living until you are 104.

Sightron have a brand new 45x45 that will focus down to 10m, we are getting a delivery in 2-3 weeks, that may be a more reasonably priced option as they should be retailing at just under the £1000 mark they look very similar to the Leup comp but are apparently going to be lighter, i will weigh it when they arrive.

That sounds like very good news especially if they have a mil-hash reticle.
Any spec. or even a photo?
They'll have to go some to be lighter than a comp. scope and keep quality glass optics...:D

    Edit found it:

just been having a look, unfortunately at present it is only a fine cross with 1/10 MOA centre dot. but as said before it will be a better option to dial and if you want to keep it basic it wont take you too long to set up for dialling either, you can make it as simple or as complicated as you like.

I’ve seen that scope floating around on the net and if the gaps are useful at longer ranges and it’s as “sightron” as the FT scope I think at that price they’ll sell a bucket load regardless of ret. I’m excited by this .

    Where do i pre order?

I vote Neil to review said scope. I know he's a bit reticent about it at the moment, but I'm sure he'll warm to it...;)

For similar money there is the IOR BR scope at opticswarehouse, and for a little more, Leupold still do the 45x45 with lifetime Leup any owner warranty vs the sightron limited 10yr.
Not sure why the sightron target dot would sell any better in this market, especially when their 36x42 is amazing for half the price. Sure, it doant quite focus down to 10yds, but the Leup does and we dont see many of the 45x about (plenty of 35 and 40x so maybe sightron missed a trick...)

Back on topic, I have picked up a Leup 35x target dot, so I will get 2/3 of the features I wanted. Yep, im going to have to dial for the odd occasion I use it for FT, but im hoping I can get the shorter distances dialled and marked up at the benchrest club.

    Cheers!
