Personally i prefer a simple fine hair with a central dot. I assume miildots are useful for windage. Nikko Stirling will supply there FT reticle. Im not to sure if it gives any advantage. Which reticle do FT guys prefer?

Have to settle for dots in my Premier Leup but fave ret of all time is the Nato used in a big Nikko.

Dots / lines on the lower part of the ret are very useful as aim off marks for 12 yards and closer when scope is mounted very high (usual in FT) to stop you having to go a turn out on the top turret.

Both my mk2 nikkos are "mil-dot". Not tried the nato ret in any kind of serious way but found with the dots I can measure with them and use them for windage if I need to.

Mil dot true at 10x and shoot on 30x works well for windage.

Mildots in 2nd focal plane on any high mag scope is practically useless, too much going on.
T50 can almost fit 6 dots in a kill at 50 yards, similar March 80 almost 8.

On the other hand mildot in 1st focal plane has markings a bit too wide, dot to dot fills a 40mm kill at 44 yards. Saying that far better than 2nd fp.

Using on my other little March a 1/8" dot since end of March similar to Leup Comp series, just judge by size of kill old school. I will be having this ret changed to a DiPlex similar to Leupold Duplex.

The Premier Ret 3 dots either side in fine, one above and below bracketing a 40mm kill at 50 yards was perfect.

I use the NATO recticle on my Nikko Mk2 and the lines on the horizontal are reference for windage whislt the 2 lines on the lower part of the vertical line I use for the close targets. For me it works at 15x 1st line down is 10yds and the 2nd is 8yds.

As I shoot on 25x the horizontal lines are about 1 killzone apart at 45yds so can give me a good idea of how much the wind is pushing pellets.
