Are there any Bfta type rules for ft pistol comps?

power i know, but what about course rules etc?

Any clubs / regions run Ft pistol comps? If so, what do you do?

We used to have them before John Thomas died, but that was 5 years ago now and cant say i can remeber us doing one since?

We have a set of "pistol" targets, round disks on pegs /stands , the paddle / kill being of various sizees. I seem to think the max distance was 25 yards.
    All taken standing

    Any one have ideas etc?

Hope to have a pistoo comp at our Summer shot at tondu on april 17th.

We do HFT pistol to 25 yards. Other than scoring I dont know what the difference between HFT and FT pistol would be. Dont know if you could get a range finding scope on a pistol.

Hey simon...we run it on the winter league in the nefta region....10 targets all pull string resets...x hit 0 miss type thing.....each club has a course and it runs a side shoot open type thing. look on nefta website under scores and u will see theres a pistol section for individuals and as a team for clubs...

The official NEFTA pistol rules on the site, such as they are, are here - down the bottom under pistol rules, don't get confused with the silhouette rules :)

I set out the course at Guiseley this winter league and I was told max distance 20m (22 yards) so that's what I set to, but I'm not sure how accurate that it as I know I've shot at targets further than that.

    Hi Simon

At Castle we run a FT pistol league with the course being put out every week using knock down targets with pull string reset. Basic club rues are

10 lanes 2 targets per lane, twice round = 40 shots
    25yds max distance
    eye protection to be warn
any pistol as long as it's legal
    any sights can be used
ALL PISTOLS TO BE LOADED FACING DOWN RANGE..

We started this last year with very little interest from some club members, this year the interest seems to be growing and we now have quite a few members joining in every week.

    Regards
    Andy
