    hello,

in France some shooters critic our FT shooting rules, saying they do not correspond to the UK FT shooting rules

These shooters say that a “freestyle" shooting laneâ€, allows the shooters to use any position including prone or on the back. for these guys freestyle is freestyle:rolleyes::cool:

Sorry to ask this question, but it is needed.
What are the positions authorized on a Freestyle lane
only sitting, kneeling and standing or any positions like prone and any other

    Thanks

sitting, kneeling, standing and prone, if you can see the target prone.

Off the back? Dont think that is allowed?

As far as im aware Standing, sitting, kneeling and prone is allowed on the freestyle lane's, dont know about laying on your back:), there are specific rule's for prone though, try the docs on the BFTA website http://www.bfta.net/jsite3/

I think the only thing you can not do on a free style lane is rest your gun either on the floor or any other object for example a tree trunk. regards steve (lying on your back is ok if you can see the target)

On the back "supine prone" would have problems with the muzzle over the line; very stable position though.

I suppose that as now there's no foot over the line restriction supine prone is possible.

I wouldn't have thought Suppine Prone wasn't allowed in BFTA comps as the definitions of the allowed shooting positions are quite specific as to what is allowed for a prone shot.

There is also the rule that states the back may not rest against an support that is not part of the shooters beanbag.
