    Evening all,

Does anyone know where I could find details of French Field Target clubs particularly down the west coast. Contact details and locations would be really helpful.

    Regards

    John

The members on the afft.fr forum will help you for sure but, the sport is not so developed yet in France.
You mention the west coast but, that is a lot of geography, is it for a vacation or are you going to be spending a lot time over here?.
I am based in the NE Dordogne and have a private 10 lane course in our orchard / paddock (knock over type targets at 8-50m / 15-40mm kill zones) you are welcome to visit as a private guest if you are ever this way.

If the french clubs can give me google coordinates and a web address or a web link i can add them to the club map... france is now easy to get to for the UK, airlines and Eurostar and Eurotunnel (i believe) take rifles, so it's within easy reach. If there's a flat sea I can be in Cherbourg in 2 hours :D

Are there any restrictions or paperwork required to take our gear into France please?

That's more than generous of you thanks very much. We stayed in the Dordogne last year and thought it was a very special part of France. Our final route hasn't been planned yet but we will certainly pass through your region. Will send you a PM with the final details and maybe I could use the range.

    Many thanks

    John

    You are welcome John
When you have your itinerary sorted PM me, we have a lot going on this summer with several family events here and some personal travel. But, if I am here and we are free of visiting children etc then you will be most welcome indeed. Hope to have my HFT & FT TX200 projects finished soon so you can also try the the "dark art" of the springer:D
Shall try to ensure that you leave happy even if only for the post shooting wine!

You are advised to contact your chosen transport company (ferry, Euro Tunnel etc.) for guidance, it varies but, some request a declaration.
Providing the rifle is sub 20 joules (14.75 ft/lbs) then no license is required in France, probably not relevant to you but, note that hunting / pest control of any sort is not permitted with an air gun here.
