    Checked the firing valve?
Is reg out back together properly, washers inserted correctly as so ()()()().
Piston oring seal may be bust.

Conor may be right on the internal regulator seal, or perhaps the delrin top on the piston is no longer ok.
If HP might not be able to help out in time, I have a set of regulator O-rings (large and small) and piston in my personal spare kit and could provide these if needed. I will order new reg parts myself then.
    regards,
    Rob

    Faulty Steyr reg

Hi thanks for the input Ive changed the seals on the reg and the firing pin but still stumped?:confused:
Thanks for the offer of bits but Ive already replaced the reg internals with new stuff.
If I had had more time Id have sent the reg to someone who has more idea than me about :p them but unfortunately time is short
Thanks guys for your advice and help with bits :)

Also sometimes, if your Steyr is equipped with the standard type hammer, the bolt axle might drag over the flat area of the hammer, causing speed changes. However you experience rather high changes in energy.
The regulator is still suspect nr 1 but difficult to tell without a regulator tester.
I will send you a pm on this.
    regards,
    Rob

If you have had the reg apart it is vital to set it up with a reg checker.

Large power swings are really unusual with Steyr's and rarely caused by the reg ..Gordon, are you comng to Emley this sat as i have a spare set up reg we could pop on to your rifle? You've got my number mate if you need a chat, after 6pm though as i'm not allowed my mobile at work.

Tubs, If you fancy a drive up north mate i'd be happy to take a look at your rifle....even show you the basics of servicing.:)

Chris, Gordon's post are from 2012, Tubs has resurrected a very old thread in his search for answers.
