    can anyone help with what I think is a reg problem with my EV Mk1, ive done some crhono testing today and here are the results all done in fps.

    1= 742 fps
    2= 750
    3= 755
    4= 747
    5= 751
    6= 753
    7= 756
    8= 769
    9= 763
    10=760

    left the rifle to rest 5 minutes then started again.

    1= 746
    2= 761
    3= 762
    4= 763
    5= 763
    6= 758
    7= 763
    8= 757
    9= 763
    10=756

    left the rifle to rest 20 minutes then started again

    1= 736
    2= 755
    3= 758
    4= 760
    5= 757
    6= 763
    7= 760
    8= 760
    9= 766
    10=763

    the testing was done with exacts 4.5 8.4 grain, the resident gunsmith is certain its the reg that's fooked.

    your thoughts please

    Yes, reg leaking. Not leaking air out, but allowing high pressure air in when it shouldn't. This builds a higher pressure for the firing valve to open against, it can't do that properly, so the first shot goes low.

    After that, so long as you shoot with not too long between shots, the power stays up and stays put.

    In a competition, you'll see some shooters ask to fire an empty shot if there has been a hold up or delay between taking the last shot and this one.

    A service including a swap of all the O rings.

    Personally I would look for one of the gurus on here to do the job for you, rather than send it back to Air Arms. One of the difficulties can be getting the reg undone as the factory do them up ridiculously tight.

    I was thinking that myself, I bought from a rfd so it has a 30 day warrenty, but after speaking to them yesterday it wasn't serviced or tested by there gunsmith prior to sale because they were told it was ok :(.

    If you paid the premium to by from a shop, then back to them and get them to have it sorted for you :)

    depending on what you paid for your ev I would think about taking them up on the refund as there are plenty of good evs up for sale and I would guess there will be a few more coming up for sale now that the ftp900 is due for delivery at the end of this month,if you decide to keep it and have your reg sorted I can highly recommend Dave Brayford at Staffordshire custom rifles he is spot on mine has never been better
