Anyone fitted a silencer to the Air Arms Ev2 Mk4??
I have a Rowan silencer adapter that came with my EV2 when I bought it, but it does make it stick out a fair way, and now that I have free floated the barrel it will add weight, so don't use it. It's an easy way to fit one though.
How did you free float the barrel?
The standard muzzle brake is fastened to the collar on the end of the air cylinder by a grub screw. Remove this then you can cut down the front collar where it sits up under the MB to create a gap between MB and the collar. Hey Presto - floating barrel!
I also recommend you check the barrel retention screws in the breech block. Make sure they are tight and I also use a spot of my ladies nail varnish on the threads to stop them coming loose. It works but is also easy to 'crack with an Allen key to undo them if you need to.
Many people use after market muzzle brakes - I use Rowan (see picture left), and they are excellent.
A floating barrel is in my view far more reliable in retaining zero than a retained barrel. Well worth the effort.
Silencer mounted the same as org. splitter on a ring.
Get that gun indoors!
Simon, its an ev2 they're allowed to get cold and wet
That's fairly gentle weather for you Welsh. Just weird to see an accumulation of snow on it.
How is your grouping at 50m
the same as with the splitter but on a different poi. But then if I take the splitter of and put it back on. poi would change as well. But then I'm adjusting the muzzle, so poi change is more then normal in my eyes. Slightly more recoil on it, with the silencer.
This is mine...floated barrel
