That looked a lovely gun, especially for the money.

Shoot it and if it works leave well alone. A chrono session will tell you if the reg is working (not that much of a problem to remedy if not) and may I suggest clean the barrel very well before zeroing and keep it clean.

The Exact batch that will be right for your barrel only you can tell??

most of the new batches seem good.

    Try batch 50 or 14.

Try them straight from the tin and sized 4.52 or 4.50?

Forget Rs unless your only shooting on no wind days.

Express are ok but harder to shoot well with than Exacts.

I have not had great results with AA pellets, but have not tried many batches.

    JSB for me!

Thanks for all this info it's just what I'm looking for will just shooting a few Vfg felts do the job or use the rod as well every 200 shots? Sorry for all the questions but it will save a lot of time.

I use a pull through, the blue napier stuff that comes on a roll. One piece with cleaner on and then a couple of dry ones. I try to do that every shoot or two (200 shots), that seems to keep it sweet. A few more patches with cleaner on may be needed if the barrel is dirty, but you can see them start to come trough clean.

For the record I am using AA pellets at the moment and they seem fine, what's a batch:confused::eek:

    pull through's

Would not use the rod's bit to aggressive, just use pull through's or some people use patches of j cloth.
As for tune's and little fetal's,take the advise of one of the best ev shooter's in the world
Mr osbourne he aint shooting the score's he does with just luck alone.

A batch, or more precisely, " a bad batch", is something Simon uses to explain his misses :D ;)

Well the ev turned up on thursday and im so pleased with it cant wait to shoot it just one problem though it has a leak on the reg you can hear a tapping sound coming from near the sprit level. so a quick call to AA and they say its a 2007 and its never been back to them for a service and for one of them £110 hmm so another call to john ostler and he charges £130 with a 12 month warranty and a few other bits done to the trigger and things. Think i will go with john!

just a side note i phoned ron who sold me the gun and he has agreed to pay for half of what it costs to put right so good on him imo.

Rob, John is one of the best in the business. He has done both my Ripleys, thinking about it that was over 12 months ago.

The newer one I have not touched in anyway and even now will consistantly shoot JSBs at 770fps as I request he set it to. At GP's and BFTA events it has never gone near the maximum and as far as I can remember been within +/- 5fps of 770 at them.

I collected my Ripley in the snow in Dec 2010 which I think is why he remembers me as I drove up there and back via Royston, Cambs in one day.

Yeah he sounds like a nice bloke I asked him what the difference is of having his reg put in and he said mine works lol what an answer!

Andy is going to take it up to him for me next week so hopefully will be able to get it back by gp3 looks like I'm going to miss gp2 though ad I have sold the Daystate today :)
