    anyone know if/what covering is on the silver standard breech as I fancy having it annodised but would need to know what it is as standard to know if /how it can be done thanks peter

    Hi Peter,

    What do you mean by 'breech'? If you mean the action block then yes it is anodised. Just had my MK2 restored (standard black), but it isn't that simple to do.
    You have to remove all metal parts (ferrous) from the action. This includes all pins that support the trigger assemby & hammer bushes etc. You can try sealing some areas with rubber bungs to keep the acid out (firing valve bush) but make sure the bungs are tight & acid resistant. The acid will severely damage any ferrous parts when a current is passed through it.
    You will also have to restore the laser engraving (if there is any) as this will probably be removed when they strip the old finish & re-anodise.
    Having said that, it will look brand new when you get it back!!
