    Disappointing news!

Easyjet refused travel to me, Andy and John

Dispite 2 hours of negotiation they would not allow our rifles onboard without certicates. We told them repeatedly that sub 12ft-lb air rifles do not require them but to no avail. Multiple levels of their administration were ignorant of the facts. I have travelled on this route with this airline for 5 years without this hindrance. Andy and John have travelled all over the world!

We are all greatly disappointed and offer our sincere apologies to our Spanish friends.

Gutted for all of you. No compensation will make up for the loss of a superb weekend.

They wanted a firearms certificate Simon.

Unfortunately we couldn't convince them that we were not allowed to have one.

    Cripes.

But I do have a letter from the home office stating exactly that. That we cannot get licenses.

Do you know who refused you? Was it the airline or baggage/customs?

    Both Rob.

It was "computer says no" attitude

Each year we meet barriers but eventually someone realises we are right. Last year the supervisor was great and we sailed through. I hoped for the same but ... Alas!

So sorry for you, Andy and John. Would you be able to claim compensation if you can prove you are in the right....I know it doesn't replace the enjoyment you were about to experience, but at least it will be a one up on them.

We will try for compensation. It worries me that if we don't win then what does that mean for future travel? We cannot be at the whim of people's interpretation of the law.

Hopefully the BFTA or BASC might intervene. If it were me i would have written down the name of every single employee and would now be seeking legal action along with social media crucifiction and letters to every newspaper on the planet. I fly every week and ALL airline employees are muppets that try to illicite an angry response in an attempt to make them being wrong into right. As soon as you get angry or swear they've got you.
